What CP12 means
CP12 is the common name for the landlord gas safety record issued after gas appliances and relevant flue arrangements have been checked.
How often it is needed
Rental properties with gas appliances usually need a gas safety check every 12 months. Landlords should keep records and provide tenants with the required copy.
If a problem is found
The engineer will explain the issue and any restrictions. Remedial work should be prioritised according to the safety risk and property needs.
